Back from the Dead

That title of this blog is facetious but there is some truth to it. I have just been on a one-week vacation to Maui. It was another island in the Pacific, but unlike Vancouver Island, it was warm even in November. Unlike my earlier trip to Nova Scotia and South Carolina, this one had nothing at all to do with my books. So it feels as though I have been sleeping a spell in paradise, and now I come back to reality. It’s raining outside. There is work to be done. I must prepare my book launch for The Serpentine Garden Path.

If you live in Victoria, or anywhere near here, you are invited to attend. The date is Friday, December 7 at 1:30. The place is First Metropolitan United Church. There will be refreshments and an opportunity to buy a signed copy of the book, which is the first in the series, and also A Garden in the Wilderness, which is book four. I hope to publish books two and three in the new year. So, if you haven’t read them yet, or are looking for a Christmas present, please come. There will be a special deal if you buy both books.

I hadn’t meant this blog as an ad, but there you go. I guess the vacation is well and truly over, and it is Black Friday today after all!

  1. Hi, I am another Dean descendant thru Eleanor Dean and Wm. Fisher. I have enjoyed your first three books (which I purchased thru amazon and the other two thru smash words) tremendously. I ordered book 4 from borealis 6 weeks ago and have not received it. They do not respond to my phone or email messages inquiring as to status of delivery. My credit card was charged for the book and hope you might have some means of assisting me in obtaining it.

    • Hi Karen,

Thanks for your e-mail. I will telephone the publisher right away and see what the problem is.

I’m glad you liked my books. I am going to be in Halifax in June and I hope to launch the hard copies of books 2 and 3 at that time. Maybe I’ll be able to see you then and sign your book (that is, if you live in the area).

      • Edeana, Thanks for your quick reply! My grandmother was the last to live in Halifax and she left in 1921. Am currently in Honolulu which is why I expected some delay in the books arrival if it was to come by ship. But the lack of response from Borealis was disturbing. Let me know if you have a book signing in Victoria. During summer I’m just across the Juan de Fuca!

      • For sure I’ll let you know, Karen. I was going to do a book launch in September, but I’d be happy to sign books for you anytime. Are you going to be in Port Angeles or Seattle?

I’m hoping to have the books available through my website. First step, get the books printed!

      • I forgot to mention that I called the publisher and he said he’d look into it. I gave him your name and email address. If you don’t hear from him in the next couple of days, let me know and I’ll get on his case.

      • Hate to bother you but I haven’t heard a word from Borealis. My order number on my email confirmation is BP066 if that helps.
