Just a reminder that I will be launching two books this Friday, December 6th at 1:00 at First Metropolitan United Church on the corner of Quadra and Balmoral (Victoria, BC). If you are able to come, there will be some refreshments and I’ll do a reading from The Gardener’s Wife and Letters from the Gardener.
This will complete what I call The Compleat Gardener series. The spelling mistake is intentional. The stories take place in the 18th century when spelling was more random than today. It’s the title of a book that John Dean (the gardener protagonist of the novels) would probably have read. I hoped that the misspelling would make it clear that these are not books about gardening, but it may be a bit obscure. In one announcement I made, the helpful secretary corrected the spelling. Now I’m afraid I’ll have a bunch of gardening enthusiasts at my launch. I hope they’re not too disappointed.
