Here’s a photo of the cover of Book 2 of The Compleat Gardener series, recently printed. I will be launching this book on Wednesday, June 20th at Musquodoboit Harbour Public Library, about 30 miles from Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Everyone is welcome!
The cover shows the ruins of Ellon Castle, near Aberdeen, Scotland, where The Gardener’s Wife takes place in the 1780s. I took the photo in 2000 when I was doing research for the book. That’s when I learned that, at the time John Dean was the gardener, the castle was owned by the Third Earl of Aberdeen (“the wicked earl”) and occupied by his mistress Penelope Dering and her two children. Grist for the story-mill.
If you’d like a hard copy of this book and can’t come to the book launch, please let me know in the comments and I’ll try to get one to you. It is still available as an ebook through Barnes and Noble, Kobo, etc.
