Waiting

Who is good at waiting? I’m not. It feels like torture. My daughter Amelie is expecting a baby in March and I am expecting my book to be published some time before then.

Those are two wonderful things to be waiting for, I know, but I can scarcely stand the uncertainty of it. Will the book be out in time for the book launch that I have booked for March 21st?  Have I booked the right dates for my flight to Edmonton to be at the baby’s birth? Will the baby be born in time for me  to get back in time for the book launch?

I suppose I could just rebook the launch to a later date, and I suppose that the flight dates can be changed also for a fee. But in the meantime, this accursed uncertainty, this waiting around for things to happen in their own good time is excruciating.
